OPA! - A Celebration of Greek Tavernas

I’m thrilled to share that OPA!, a vibrant new cookbook celebrating the spirit of Greek tavernas by the incredible duo Helena and Vikki Moursellas, is officially out. Published by Smith Street Books.

Photographing this book was one of those rare projects that felt like a true exhale. There was no over-styling or forced perfection, just beautiful, honest food and a relaxed energy that matched the warmth of the recipes themselves. The shoot invited me to slow down, look closer, and capture the effortless charm that defines Greek dining: generous, sun-drenched, and full of heart.

My approach was to treat each dish like a portrait. Celebrating the natural textures, colours, and imperfections that make real food feel relatable. Late afternoon light, rich tones, and unfussy compositions that let the dishes speak for themselves. It was about evoking that feeling of being seated at a long table somewhere by the sea, glass in hand, surrounded by good company.

I had the joy of working alongside the dream team - food styling by @jessicajohnson, prop styling by Lauren Miller, and of course, the unstoppable energy of Vikki and Helena, who poured their hearts into every page and made every day on set feel like a feast.
